Salute to Veterans!
FREE Veterans’ Day Concert in King City

The Salute will begin with the presentation of the colors by a color guard from Ft. Hunter Liggett and the performance of Armed Forces Salute. Members and veterans of each branch will be honored as their theme song is played.
Guest performers will include the Sol Treasures Children’s Musical Theatre Chorus conducted by Celestina Ripley, student instrumentalists of “The Minions” under the direction of Daphne Denny, and The Monterey County Dance Theatre Kick-Line Dancers, choreography and direction by Jan Harkness.
The professional, 20-member Wind Ensemble, conducted and hosted by Music Director, Dr. Carl Christensen, will perform a program of pops, patriotic, and Americana favorites, including God Bless America, Selections from Porgy & Bess by Gershwin, music from the movie CoCo, and John Philip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever.
The guest performers will also perform with the professional orchestra as well. The students of “The Minions” will perform D Jam Blues and The Entertainer by Scott Joplin. The Sol Treasures Children’s Musical Theatre Chorus will perform two numbers from the holiday musical “ELF.” The Monterey County Dance Theatre Kick-Line Dancers will perform a medley of You’re a Grand Old Flag and Give My Regards to Broadway, with choreography specially created for the event by Jan Harkness.
