Monterey County Pops! Saturates Greenfield Schools with Music on May 12, 2022
On May 12, 2022, Monterey County Pops! will provide a full day and evening of musical programs, interactive workshops, clinics, and a free shared evening community concert in Greenfield Schools.
Monterey County Pops! has been working with Greenfield school music programs since 2017, presenting workshops and shared community concerts. During the pandemic, the Pops! conducted live instrument classes for Greenfield High students via Zoom and created a hybrid Zoom+Video presentation of Peter and the Wolf for elementary schools. A TV series of eighteen instrument classes (Pops! Pros Teach) was created in collaboration with AMP TV in Monterey and posted to www.montereycountypops.org for use by student musicians in all of Monterey County.
The day-long musical event will include –
- Morning and early afternoon presentations of Peter and the Wolf live in Greenfield Elementary schools.
- Afternoon workshops, instrumental clinics, and rehearsals for music students at Greenfield High School.
- A free Family Concert featuring the Monterey Count Pops! professionals combined with the high school musicians and a guest choir from Hartnell College at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited!!
Peter and the Wolf
In the morning and early afternoon, the Woodwind Quintet of the Monterey County Pops!, consisting of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and horn, augmented by percussion will present a lively, interactive program in several elementary schools.
