Ruth Jordan
French Horn
Ruth Jordan is a professional free-lance musician who has worked in the Monterey Peninsula area since 1985. Ruth has performed with many groups around the Bay Area and the world, recently touring with a wind ensemble throughout Spain. Ruth is a product of public-school music education and private training. She began her musical studies at age 10. She received a school instrument and went to her first private lesson the same week. The combination of performing with school groups and individual work made her the musician she is now. Ruth was privileged to study with the great Dr. James H. Winter at CSUFresno. His professional guidance still shapes her approach to performance and life. Working with the Zalud Brass Quintet (now the Presidents’ Brass Quintet) sparked a love of chamber performance that continues to grow. The importance of being an ambassador to music and guiding students onto a successful path as they music study with her is as important as playing as well.
